Here in the UK we have recognised that the whole mindset of 'go-get' jingoism makes a fertile breeding ground for a bullying culture.
Bloody marvelous. The composition on the cover is FAULTLESS. It works brilliantly, and the treatment of light and dark in all of them is fantastic. Rare to see both colour and line used so well and to equal measure.

Hi Ed,
Another Daniel Wallace book you should read if you are on a run with him is Mr. Sebastian and the Negro Magician. I believe it is his newest, and while Big Fish is his claim to fame I really enjoyed Mr. Sebastian. Wallace teaches at UNC Chapel Hill and he spoke in one of my undergrad english classes (I think way back during Sophomore year). He was a really laid back guy and sarcastic in a cleaver, appealing way. I'm sure taking a creative writing course with him would have been a blast. Anyway, saw your post and had to share. Hope all is well!

ps- Sounds like a great project...the book jacket design!

Love this drawing, and love Ed Gorey. I collected his books a few years back. There was a bookstore in the 40's in midtown that specialized in his work and promoted it. I wonder if that bookstore is still there?

How do you subscribe to your blog?

Ever get to NY?
