Oystercatcher

A few months ago someone asked me if I had a painting of an oystercatcher. I thought putting a starfish in its beak was more aesthetic than using an oyster––also there’s something a little emblematic in the combination of the bird and the star shape.

Looking back at this print, I think I’m really pleased with the bird, but the background seems a little crude in comparison––especially the sky. I might cut away the sky and do something a little more inspiring.
