The Slow-Beating Wings of the Heron.

Herons are always a silent delight, appearing––as they do, in the most unexpected places. This print had several iterations. It began as simple black and white, but the bird seemed to merge too much with background––which makes sense, as herons survive by hiding and pouncing. I decided to make the print taller. I cut out the heron, and tried to move it up, but this wasn’t successful. In the end I re-cut the heron and tried to register it on the separate background. I don’t think I’m finished with this one yet.
